#1: SEWER EXTENSION PLANNING

Requires county and water and sewer plans to identify failing and at-risk septic systems and plan for corrections through sewer extension without inducing growth

#2: BAT SEPTICS ENHANCEMENT

Requires BAT septics for new or replacement systems within 1,000 feet of any impaired waterway, not just tidal water as in current law

Requires treatment of stormwater from the glass, not just the footers

Increases the nutrient application setback in the Nutrient Management Manual from 35 to 100 feet

#8: CONSERVATION FARMING TAX CREDIT

Allows tenant farmers to recover lost income when landlords take land out of production for conservation

#9: PFAS IN PESTICIDES

Prohibits a person from selling or using a pesticide that has PFAS chemicals listed as an active ingredient

#10: TMDL UPDATES

Establishes criteria for when MDE must update a local TMDL

#11: VERNAL POOLS DEFINITION

Defines vernal pools in statute to faciliate protection measures

#12: PACKAGING PRODUCER RESPONSIBILITY

Modernizes recycling infrastructure and creates a financial incentive to adopt packaging alternatives

Establishes a surchage on landfill and incinerator waste to fund organic waste recycling

Creates a beverage container deposit program to reduce litter and plastic pollution
